Seeing the world through someone elses eyes 2

Pete Dads friend from Uni. I will start with just 2 comments - i. Toga party and ii. Boxer short party. Because children may read this I can't say anymore but both will make your Dad smile, or more likely a broad grin !! My two favourite stories are-: 1. Rob along with Tim (Green), Andy  (Turner) and I were the inventors if the game 'drink along a Dallas'.  This involved taking a drink every time your chosen character appeared on screen (Ie JR or Bobby etc) and everyone taking a drink whenever the word oil was used. Given that this was a program about a Texan oil family who talked about oil wells, barrels of oil, the price of oil you can just imagine how this game turned out. There was also a spin off game, 'Drink along a Rugby'. 2. The Rugby team decided to go on tour to Edinburgh based on the fact that British rail were doing a special student price of £ 12 anywhere in the UK that weekend. You all now know how much I love Daddy, and how amazing I think he is. He is the best Daddy that I could ask for. He has so many qualities and I aspire to be as strong and brave as he is. I admire him so much so that even Ceddy is a lot like Dad in many ways. But I may be slightly biased, so I asked Dad's and my facebook friends if they would mind taking 5 minutes out of their busy schedules to write down a story, a memory that they have of Dad and this is what they came up with: Ann (mentioned in previous posts) and her husband Norman have been family friends for many years – When I think of them, I think of all the BBQ's, lunches and family gatherings that we spent together, oh and I think of Grandads (Ann's lovely Dad) amazing stories. I knew that by asking Ann for something she would tell a great story (It must run in the family!!!) and that it would put a smile on everyone's face. Trouver le positif parmi tous les négatifs!

On se concentre tellement sur tous les aspects négatifs dans nos vie qu'on oublie parfois de voir le côté positif. On est tellement aveuglé par les mauvais points qu'on ne voit plus que ça, même si il y a tellement de bonnes choses qui se passent dans nos vies...  J'ai donc décidé de faire une liste pour me rappeler que malgré la situation compliquée dans la quelle nous vivons, on a plein de choses dont on peut se réjouir!  Papounet ne peut plus arriver dans le salon pendant que je regarde Las Vegas, décider que cela ne lui plaît pas et changer de chaîne. Maintenant c'est moi qui change de chaîne, "Tu voulais regarder le foot? Tant pis c'est moi qui a la télécommande et moi je veux regarder les Frères Scott!" Je peux parler autant que je veux sans être interrompu  ENFIN!!! Il ne peut pas me dire de me taire.  Fin il peut mais je ne prend pas le tableau tant que je n'ai pas fini  Il ne sait pas ce que je fais quand je suis dans u...

Finding the poitive in the negative.

We focus so much on the negative aspects of our lives we forget about all the positives. So I have decided to make a list of the good things :-) Dad can no longer walk in to the living room while I am watching something on the telly and turn it over. I can talk without being interrupted. He cant tell me to shut up.  [Well he can I just choose to not do the board until I am finished.] He doesn't know how long it takes me to get ready, therefor he can't tell me to hurry up.  As I no longer live at home he can't say “Stop putting make up on and do...”  He stays all Sunday with a lipstick kiss on his forehead  [The trick is not to blot it before kissing him, that way you don't waste a tissue – You're welcome ;-) The nurses don't wash it off because it looks gorgeous] When I cut his hair I can shave a big S in it and he doesn't know.   [But then Mum isn't too happy so have to shave it all off]  ...

Lettre d'une fille à son père...

  Cher Papounet, Tu es le premier homme que j'ai aimé. Tu es mon héros. Tes bras sont les premiers dans les quels je me sentais protégé, en sécurité. Le sourire qui illumine ton visage quand tu me vois me fait sentir si heureuse et adorée. Merci d'être à l'écoute. De pouvoir tout partager avec toi et de te montrer ma vulnérabilité a été si important pour mon développement en tant que femme. Tu as su quand me conseiller et quand, tout simplement, essuyer mes larmes. Merci d’avoir travaillé dur pour subvenir à mes besoins.
